Over the course of a year, the Visitor Centre’s Algonquin Room presents different exhibitions of Algonquin-themed art by area artists. The art is available for sale and a portion of each sale is dedicated to The Friends of Algonquin Park who, in turn, use these monies to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin. Stop by to view some exciting work, and maybe meet the artist, too!

Smitten with Algonquin-ism by Mia Lane

As a nature loving artist, Algonquin Park is mesmerizing to me. With it's untamed wilderness wonderland, an explosion of imagery waits to be tamed with my paint brush, particularly the challenging burst of autumn colours. But, like bears to honey, I find myself drawn to Algonquin Park once again.

Two Canoes: A Century Later, in the Wake by Katie Ohlke

Artist Katie Ohlke has been discovering Tom Thomson’s painting locations for the past decade, creating artwork inspired by these adventures. The painted paddles and paddle sculptures reflect a deep love for Algonquin Park and Canadian canoe culture.

This exhibit is open during the operating dates and hours of the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre.

Have you seen a piece of art from this exhibit you can't live without? Give The Friends of Algonquin Park a phone call at 613 637-2828 to arrange a purchase. Please mention you are interested in "Algonquin Room" art.
