He has led\nover 350 workshops and direct interventions to improve the governance and strategic leadership\nof for profits and not for profit organizations. Prior to his consulting career\, Don was a corporate\nofficer and global head of HR at Nortel Networks\, CIBC and Celestica. \nDon is a member of the Executive Committee of the Ontario Chapter of the Institute of\nCorporate Directors and is Chair of the Not For Profit Program Committee. He is a Past Chair of\nImagine Canada and Past Chair of Imagine’s Standards Council\, a Canada-wide initiative to\nestablish standards of excellence (including: governance\, ethical fundraising\, accountability\,\ntransparency\, and human resources) for all charities and not for profits in Canada. He personally\nchampioned and led the development of the Standards Program which is recognized globally as a\nleading example of capacity development. \nDon has an MBA and BA\, Psychology from McMaster University and is certified as a Chartered\nDirector by the Directors College. At the Chartered Director graduation ceremony in 2006\, Don\nwas awarded the “Gilbert Bennett Gold Standard Award” as the top graduate of the Chartered\nDirector Program following which he served as a faculty member of the Directors College for 8\nyears.
