SUMMARY:Etwell Concert Series - Jake and the Fundamentals
DESCRIPTION:Jake and The Fundamentals are inspired by Chicago blues\, Delta blues\, good ol’ Rock & Roll\, R&B\, and everything in between. In 1965 Thomas took his guitar to Detroit and tried to make a living.  For a seventeen-year-old rookie from the wilds of northern Ontario it was like a crash course at “The University of Blues and R&B”.  Over the next decade he shared the stage with great artists like Muddy Waters\, Taj Mahal\, Johnny Winter\, Doug Kershaw\, and worked with many Toronto R&B artists like George Olliver and Bill King.  After all these years of guitar playing\, Thomas says it is still a thrill and a true pleasure. Like the man says: “You can’t lie down when you’re busy getting down.” \nTickets are by donation – Suggested Donation $20

SUMMARY:Etwell Concert Series - Johnny Max
DESCRIPTION:To listen to Johnny Max tell it\, and to watch Johnny Max present it\, you understand very quickly that there’s more to creating great music than simply performing a first-rate piece of music well. It’s much more all encompassing than that. \nMax’s take includes engaging the audience\, making his show accessible. He wants to more than simply feed off the audience\, he looks to make them part of the experience. And he does so with his good natured wit. \nWhile his first three releases firmly established Max in the Blues idiom\, it was on his fourth\, the Juno nominated A Lesson I’ve Learned\, that Johnny added to his Blues sensibilities\, and found his groove. And that groove had more to do with Southern Soul than straight up Blues. Of note\, check the title track whose chorus might have been lifted from the Dan Penn songbook. \nTickets are by Donation – Suggestion Donation $20

SUMMARY:Etwell Concert Series - Paul Reddick
DESCRIPTION:Paul Reddick has long been apart of Canada’s rich roots music scene. He is one of the best harmonica players in the country. His distinctive voice covers a wide emotional palette\, always engaging\, sometimes a shout\, more often a conversationally vivid whisper. But it is Reddick’s songs —  sometimes sweet\, sometimes bitter\, always thought-provoking and rarely sentimental — and the passionate way he delivers them that best illustrate what the influential British magazine Mojo described as his “wayward brilliance”. In the real world\, he has been nomianted for Junos and Blues Music Awards and he is a seven-time Maple Blues Award winner. And he continues to tour — across Canada and the United State\, with two or three trips a year to Europe — with his hard-hitting band.
