Think relaxing on the grass with your friends\, on the beautiful Muskoka waterfront\, with a beautiful open air stage. \nThe afternoon includes performances by three live bands on the DEERHURST RESORT MAINSTAGE. Each one has been chosen with fun & celebration in mind. They’ll be singing songs you know and love singing along with. There’s plenty of room for dancing – and sitting back and relaxing while you enjoy the show. Both of these shows are a Fantastic way to showcase the development of our students and also the perfect opportunity for students to perform on a Large Stage for their Parents in a Big Theatre. Our performances are held at the Algonquin Theatre in Huntsville. These performances are age appropriate and appeal to all ages. \nBabes in Arms \nBABES IN ARMS are defined as children up to 6 months old. BABES IN ARMS will be issued a complimentary ticket. Patrons are required to purchase tickets for children older than 6 months.\nALL persons regardless of age must have a ticket to enter the auditorium. The Ontario Fire Code regulations state that everyone attending a performance must have an admission ticket and an assigned seat. The Ontario Fire Code states that a child sitting on someone’s lap is not considered to be in an assigned seat. This measure is taken to ensure the approved seating capacity of the auditorium is not exceeded and for the safety of all guests.

SUMMARY:Muskoka River X - The Ox Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Paddle the beautiful and quiet waters of Oxtongue Lake and Oxtongue River. Enjoy two full days of racing. On day one\, go head-to-head within a high intensity short course format in which pairs of teams face off against each other. On day two\, race a 10km sprint\, 30km tri-paddle or 40km marathon event. During the evening\, relax and enjoy family and friends at a BBQ Feast. There are categories and options for everyone. \nLocated on the edge of Oxtongue Provincial Park and just east of Algonquin Provincial Park\, Oxtongue Lake and River is the perfect location for water sport racing. With protected and quiet waters and spectacular scenery\, THE OX offers a spectator-friendly short course stadium and 10km marathon loop. The site is well serviced with accommodations\, basic provisions and is hosted at Algonquin Outfitters’ premier backcountry base-camp. Oxtongue Lake is the quintessential Canadian paddling destination. \n\nBattle of the Paddle\nSaturday June 15\, 2019 \nEnjoy head-to-head\, high intensity short course racing in which pairs of teams face off against each other in a double-elimination format. Each team races at least twice per event. First round pairs are randomly drawn. Race One is for seeding. Race Two starts the elimination. Teams keep progressing to the next round as long as they keep winning. The last winning team is the winner. Canoe classes are a “ONE DESIGN” event\, meaning all teams will paddle a standardized watercraft provided by race management. Participate in as many events as you are eligible. Awards will be presented at Algonquin Outfitters THE OX banquet on Saturday evening. \n\nSprint\, Tri-Paddle and Marathon\nSunday June 16\, 2019 \nSprint and Marathon racing in which teams paddle a 10km loop on Oxtongue Lake and the Oxtongue River. Teams complete as many loops as necessary to reach the total distance in each event. Teams may resupply nutrition/hydration/supplies at the designated “feeding station” upon the completion of each loop\, located at the start-finish line. Support teams are encouraged!

SUMMARY:National Indigenous Peoples Day
DESCRIPTION:The Town of Huntsville is excited to announce a free public event in River Mill Park\, on National Indigenous Peoples Day June 21\, 2019 — the longest day of the year — and the start of summer in Muskoka. \nWith funding from the Department of Canadian Heritage\, the Juno award-winning Digging Roots — Raven Kanatakta and ShoShona Kish and their band — will mix a wide range of musical styles from folk\, rock\, blues and even hip hop\, to create unique and powerful sounds. Digging Roots won the Canadian Aboriginal Award for best group in 2007\, and more recently\, ShoShona won the Spirit of Folk Award at the International Folk Music Awards. In April 2019\, ShoShona Kish became the first artist in Canada to receive the prestigious WOMEX Professional Excellence Award. Digging Roots continue to share their culture and their talent to the delight of audiences all around the globe. \nThe free concert is suitable for all ages\, and everyone is welcome. John Rice\, Zahgausgai/Mukwa\, 3rd Degree Midewiwin will act as the Master of Ceremonies. Wasauksing’s Little Spirit Singers led by Deina Bomberry will perform at 6:30 pm\, with Digging Roots on stage from 7 to 8 pm.
