SUMMARY:Etwell Concert Series - Paul Reddick
DESCRIPTION:Paul Reddick has long been apart of Canada’s rich roots music scene. He is one of the best harmonica players in the country. His distinctive voice covers a wide emotional palette\, always engaging\, sometimes a shout\, more often a conversationally vivid whisper. But it is Reddick’s songs —  sometimes sweet\, sometimes bitter\, always thought-provoking and rarely sentimental — and the passionate way he delivers them that best illustrate what the influential British magazine Mojo described as his “wayward brilliance”. In the real world\, he has been nomianted for Junos and Blues Music Awards and he is a seven-time Maple Blues Award winner. And he continues to tour — across Canada and the United State\, with two or three trips a year to Europe — with his hard-hitting band.

Or\, if you’re ready or want a bigger challenge\, move to the “Short Course Classic”. If you don’t like swimming\, try the duathlon.  If running is not your thing\, tackle the swim/bike event! \nTHE TRIMUSKOKAN EVENTS ARE:\n\n\nTHE TRY-A-TRI (400M SWIM\, 10KM BIKE\, 2.5KM RUN) POWERED BY KIMBERLY CLARK\n\nIndividual\n\nMale and Female divisions\nParticipants must be 14 years old as of December 31st\, 2018 to do the Try a Tri\n14 to 20\, 20 to 29\, 30 to 39\, 40 to 49\,50 to 60\, 60 to 69 and 70 plus\n\n\n\n\n\nTHE SHORT COURSE TRIATHLON CLASSIC (750M SWIM\, 28KM BIKE\, 7.5 KM RUN) POWERED BY BDO\n\nIndividual Triathlon\n\nMale and Female divisions\nParticipants must be 16 years old as of December 31st\, 2018 to participate in the Short Course Triathlon\n16 to 20\, 20 to 29\, 30 to 39\, 40 to 49\, 50 to 60\, 60 to 69 and 70 plus\n\n\n\n\n\nSHORT COURSE SWIM/BIKE (750M SWIM\, 28M BIKE)\n\nMale and Female divisions\nParticipants must be 16 years old as of December 31st\, 2018 to participate in the Short Course Triathlon\n\n\n\nSHORT COURSE TRIATHLON RELAY EVENTS (750M SWIM\, 28 KM BIKE\, 7.5 KM RUN)\n\nA relay team is made up of two or three members\, with one team member completing one or more legs of the race.\nParticipants must be 16 years old as of December 31st\, 2018 to participate in the Short Course Triathlon\nShort Course Triathlon Relay: Friends and family members can get together to put a team in where you work together to get to the finish line.  Here are some ideas for you:\n\nThe “Neighbourly” Challenge: Go knock on a neighbours door and challenge them for bragging rights on the street.  The losing team has to cut your grass the next time or do a household chore for the winning family the week following the race!\nA “Friendly” Challenge:  Get 6 friends together\, put the names in a hat and pull names for the teams.  Figure out who is doing what leg of the race\, and the losing team has to cook and do the dishes for winners!\nCome up with your own challenge…but keep it fun!\n\n\nCorporate Relay Challenge: Grab some of your co-workers and put together a team for bragging rights around the water cooler! This is fun team building event for corporations\, businesses and organizations will have teams of three working together as a relay\, with one person doing each of  the 750m swim\, 30km bike and a 7km run legs.  Challenge your business rivals to a friendly competition for even more bragging rights!\n\n\n\nDUATHLON (2.5KM RUN\, 28 KM BIKE\, AND 7.5 KM RUN)\n\nMale and Female divisions\n\nAge groups: Under 45\, and 45 and over\n\n\nParticipants must be 16 years old as of December 31st\, 2018 to participate in the Short Course Triathlon\n\n\n\n\n\nTRIATHLON CLUB CHALLENGES\n\nThese are open to triathlon teams that are registered with Triathlon Ontario. SUMMARY:Big East River X
DESCRIPTION:Our early summer classic\, The Big East River X Marathon event may not be the longest event however it still is demanding and challenging. This 40km course follows flat-water rivers of the upper Muskoka River and Big East River with open water paddling on Lake Vernon. The Big East River X Family/Recreation event is intended to be a social\, friendly\, and fun event for families\, inexperienced paddlers\, or those just wanting share a day on the water. Being only 9km\, the course is achievable for most paddlers as it follows flat-water rivers and ventures only briefly into Lake Vernon. The Big East River X is a great event to step up your training for the Muskoka River X or just to try your hand at paddling and get on the water.

SUMMARY:The Barra MacNeils
DESCRIPTION:The Barra MacNeils are touring this spring in support of their latest release On The Bright Side\, an exquisite collection of everything their fans love. It’s an upbeat album\, with fiddle tunes that you know will erupt into a flurry of step-dancing on stage. When Lucy sings the heart-wrenching Ribhinn Donn\, whether or not you ‘have the Gaelic’\, have a tissue handy. You’ll need it. The distinctive family harmonies; an array of rhythmic instruments weaving through and around various themes—some decidedly classical but then\, suddenly\, very traditional Cape Breton; the lads singing a cappella; a thoughtful solo gradually merging into a frenzied all-hands-on-deck medley … it exudes the passion and energy familiar to anyone who has ever experienced The Barra MacNeils stage show. For the unfamiliar\, critical acclaim says it all: “a treasure of the East Coast\, rich with tradition and unmatched in ensemble performance.” … “The Barra MacNeils capture the feeling of ‘close your eyes and you’re there’.” … “They play what they like and folks like what they play.” … “Moments of beauty as well as raucous memories like this can linger forever.” \nAs always\, the five MacNeil siblings—Lucy\, Boyd\, Stewart\, Kyle and Sheumas—combine on a vast array of instruments including accordian\, guitar\, piano\, fiddle\, bodhran\, mandolin\, banjo\, Celtic harp\, tin whistles\, bouzouki\, flute … underpinned by the nimble-fingered Jamie Gatti on bass. If you’ve ever been wowed by their Christmas show\, be prepared to have the wow factor raised exponentially as the band is unleashed from the strictures of the season. “Nothing but dumbstruck awe.” Don’t miss On The Bright Side with The Barra MacNeils!
