SUMMARY:Big East River X
DESCRIPTION:Our early summer classic\, The Big East River X Marathon event may not be the longest event however it still is demanding and challenging. This 40km course follows flat-water rivers of the upper Muskoka River and Big East River with open water paddling on Lake Vernon. The Big East River X Family/Recreation event is intended to be a social\, friendly\, and fun event for families\, inexperienced paddlers\, or those just wanting share a day on the water. Being only 9km\, the course is achievable for most paddlers as it follows flat-water rivers and ventures only briefly into Lake Vernon. The Big East River X is a great event to step up your training for the Muskoka River X or just to try your hand at paddling and get on the water.

SUMMARY:The Barra MacNeils
DESCRIPTION:The Barra MacNeils are touring this spring in support of their latest release On The Bright Side\, an exquisite collection of everything their fans love. It’s an upbeat album\, with fiddle tunes that you know will erupt into a flurry of step-dancing on stage. When Lucy sings the heart-wrenching Ribhinn Donn\, whether or not you ‘have the Gaelic’\, have a tissue handy. You’ll need it. The distinctive family harmonies; an array of rhythmic instruments weaving through and around various themes—some decidedly classical but then\, suddenly\, very traditional Cape Breton; the lads singing a cappella; a thoughtful solo gradually merging into a frenzied all-hands-on-deck medley … it exudes the passion and energy familiar to anyone who has ever experienced The Barra MacNeils stage show. For the unfamiliar\, critical acclaim says it all: “a treasure of the East Coast\, rich with tradition and unmatched in ensemble performance.” … “The Barra MacNeils capture the feeling of ‘close your eyes and you’re there’.” … “They play what they like and folks like what they play.” … “Moments of beauty as well as raucous memories like this can linger forever.” \nAs always\, the five MacNeil siblings—Lucy\, Boyd\, Stewart\, Kyle and Sheumas—combine on a vast array of instruments including accordian\, guitar\, piano\, fiddle\, bodhran\, mandolin\, banjo\, Celtic harp\, tin whistles\, bouzouki\, flute … underpinned by the nimble-fingered Jamie Gatti on bass. If you’ve ever been wowed by their Christmas show\, be prepared to have the wow factor raised exponentially as the band is unleashed from the strictures of the season. “Nothing but dumbstruck awe.” Don’t miss On The Bright Side with The Barra MacNeils!

Formed in Sydney Australia in 1973 by brothers\, Angus and Malcolm\, they have an impressive 17 studio albums to their credit with sales in excess of 200 million units sold worldwide. The Back in Black album stands alone as the top selling album by a band (2nd to solo artist Michael Jackson’s Thriller album) with 50 million copies sold. \nUltimate Artists Live brings to you the magic and music that has created the legacy with this authentic audio/visual recreation of the legendary Australian band.Re-live the Experience with The AC/DC Show – CANADA. You’ll hear hits from both the Brian Johnson and (the late) Bon Scott eras. The show is an authentic audio/visual recreation of the legendary Australian band. With the stacks of Marshall amplifiers and the grit of the mighty Gibson SG guitar\, this musical tone is sure to capture your attention from the opening notes.  \nPerformed by some of Canada’s most accomplished musicians\, they will take you for a ride on the rock ‘n’ roll train through AC/DC’s incredible history of hits. The featured performers take their roles to new heights.  \nShamus Black as your Brian Johnson/Bon Scott lead singer. Fact: A recording of The AC/DC Show–CANADA’s performance from February\, 2016 was personally taken back to Los Angeles by a member of AC/DC’s management in Early March of 2016 when Brian Johnson was diagnosed with severe hearing damage. This recording with Shamus is believed to have been the only Canadian entry that was considered in the search for their new singer. Axl Rose of Guns and Roses was eventually chosen for the role. \nGino Del Sole as the Angus Young lead guitarist. Fact: Sudbury native and Humber College Graduate Gino Del Sole has emerged as a top candidate in starring guitar roles with Norwegian Breakaways ‘Rock of Ages’ and the Mirvisch production of ‘Kinky Boots’. Gino’s attention to minute details is evident in his role as musical director of the show. \nThe incredibly challenging role of the rhythm section is performed and carried by: Steve MacPherson as the Malcolm Young rhythm guitarist. Doug Adams as the Cliff Williams bass guitarist. Sal Cavelli as the Phil Rudd beat-keeper on the drums.
