DESCRIPTION:Flávia Nascimento joins Tio Chorinho\, Canada’s first ensemble dedicated to performing Brazilian choro music. Flávia moved from Brazil to Quebec where she now has an active career as an actress and singer. She is a favourite at street parties\, popular events\, major festivals and in concert halls. Whenever there is a need to make a show burst with excitement\, it is time to call Flávia. Best known for her expertise in Northeastern Brazilian styles such as forró and maracatù\, this collaboration with Canada’s leading choroensembles allows listeners to discover Flávia in a completely different repertoire. Flávia and Tio Chorinho will soon embark upon a full-length collaborative recording. \n\nTio Chorinho has become known for energetic live performances that appeal to audiences of all kinds. Listeners are consistently thrilled by the group’s unique repertoire\, their virtuosity and dynamics\, and by their easy-going charm on stage. The group features Carlinhos Cardozo (cavaquinho)\, Maninho Costa (percussion)\, Milos Popovic (accordion)\, Eric Stein (mandolin)\, and Andre Valerio (7-string guitar). \n\n\nChoro (pronounced SHOH-roh) is a primarily instrumental style originating in Rio de Janeiro in the late-19th century.Choro is the original Brazilian soul music\, combining popular and classical European styles with Afro-Brazilian influences. It is the foundation of many modern Brazilian music styles\, and is often described as “the New Orleans jazz of Brazil.” Exciting\, energetic\, soulful\, intimate\, nostalgic and virtuosic\, choro is an infectious popular style whose universal appeal belies its musical complexity.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on May 28th in support of Mental Health Month and let’s do this together! Lets Ride for Mental Health Services in Muskoka-Parry Sound. Our Community needs your & our support more now then ever! \nWe are back and excited to be able to once again host you for our annual CMHA Muskoka-Parry Sound\, Spin the Lakes Bike Tour & Fundraiser on Saturday\, May 28th at Hidden Valley Resort in the beautiful town of Huntsville. This year will look a bit different due to covid. We will be offering the 57km & 102km bike tours this year with staggered starts every 10 minutes from 8:30am-10:30am. Choose when you start your ride through beautiful Muskoka! \nRegistration is now open until May 13\, 2022 at 11:59pm \nYour registration fee: \n\n$75 (The first 1-199 riders registered)\n$85 ( The next 200-399 riders registered)\n$100 (The next 400-600 riders registered)\n\nIncludes a STL’s t-shirt (now available in men and women’s sizes)\, medal\, bib #\, coffee and tea available before your ride\, water & refreshment stations\, support cars\, first aid station at finish line as well as a delicious post race lunch provided by Hidden Valley. Entertainment to be announced.

Born in India\, Chef Vikram made Canada his home over 20 years ago and remains  a tireless advocate of Indian cuisine in Canada\, and of buying and eating locally produced and sustainable ingredients. His Vancouver-based restaurants have been lauded as among the finest Indian dining experiences in the world. Now he’s bringing his passion for food\, wine and travel to Deerhurst Resort where you will have the opportunity to meet\, mingle and be inspired by one of Canada’s best known chefs. \nThe highlight will be Saturday night’s Indian themed dinner hosted by Chef Vikram with a custom-designed menu for this special weekend.
