SUMMARY:Etwell Concert Series - Tobin Spring and the Muskoka Blues Connection
DESCRIPTION:Huntsville-based bluesman Tobin Spring has been making waves in Muskoka since he picked up the guitar at age twelve. This triple-threat guitar player\, singer\, and songwriter makes for a high energy and soulful live show.  Tobin is quickly establishing himself as a blues force to be reckoned with. \nTobin has opened for a variety of artists including Big Sugar\, Blue Rodeo\, Kim Mitchell\, Serena Ryder\, and April Wine. He’s had four of his songs put into heavy rotation on Moose FM stations across Ontario (“It’s Only Life”\, “September”\, “Higher Height” and “Both Sides Of The Coin”) He also wrote and produced the theme song for the 2010 Ontario Winter Games entitled “Be Here”. \nIn 2005 Tobin created the highly successful Northern Blues Review. There has since been eleven different incarnations of the show and each time it has featured some of Ontario’s finest blues musicians. Tobin runs a music school is Huntsville and performs regularly as the lead singer/guitarist for his band Laganza. His thoroughly anticipated album ‘Collective Blues Agreement\,’ which features award-winning Canadian blues artists\, is his first effort outside of the band. \nTickets are by donation – Suggested Donation $20

After a span as a journey man session musician throughout the seventies\, Danny settled in to the club scene\, establishing a cult following as a genre bender in music and humor. \nA house band gig at Toronto’s famed Albert’s Hall led him to host his own nation-wide TV show\, Stormy Monday. He performs like a veteran musician on the piano and organ\, and is equally proficient on guitar\, bass or mandolin.    \nAlthough some consider him a throw back of the ’60s\, he still has the capacity to grab the attention of both the old\, young and everyone in between. He’s an “old soul” who easily commands the attention of any crowd.  His passion for music and performing is contagious. \nStarting his music career at the ripe age of 15\, Weidinger has had the pleasure of playing a variety of venues around Southwestern Ontario on a weekly basis. SUMMARY:Etwell Concert Series - Carlos del Junco
DESCRIPTION:Carlos has toured Canada regularly since 1996 and tours often in Germany and the United States. He has played all the major jazz\, blues\, and folk festivals across Canada. \nBorn in Havana\, Cuba\, del Junco (loosely translated “of the reeds”) immigrated with his family at the age of one. He bent his first note on a harmonica when he was fourteen\, making his debut with his high school math teacher at a student talent night. \nPlaying a ten hole diatonic harmonica\, Carlos has developed the unique ability to play chromatically by using a recently developed “overblow” technique taught to him by jazz virtuoso Howard Levy. Overall\, this approach to the diatonic harmonica\, although much more difficult to achieve\, is in many ways more expressive and communicative than the mechanized tone produced by the chromatic harmonica. Carlos is one of the few pioneers of this overblow method\, bringing musical credibility to what has still been considered by many in the music industry – a fringe folk instrument. The sophisticated sound produced by del Junco is at once sensitive\, soulful\, and sexy while never forgetting the rawness inherent in blues music. \nTickets are by donation – Suggested Donation $20
