After a span as a journey man session musician throughout the seventies\, Danny settled in to the club scene\, establishing a cult following as a genre bender in music and humor. \nA house band gig at Toronto’s famed Albert’s Hall led him to host his own nation-wide TV show\, Stormy Monday. DESCRIPTION:Matt Weidinger has a voice like no other. The 25-year-old Kitchener\, ON native is a passionate young songwriter\, who is well known for his mature rock/soul vocals and impressive multi-instrumental (keyboards\, guitars) talents. \nWeidinger has spent the last year focusing primarily on his work with the band LumberJunk and his songwriting\, which included several sold-out shows and the release of two EPs..  \nHis unmistakable earthly tones captivate the hearts of anyone who hears it. He performs like a veteran musician on the piano and organ\, and is equally proficient on guitar\, bass or mandolin.    \nAlthough some consider him a throw back of the ’60s\, he still has the capacity to grab the attention of both the old\, young and everyone in between. He’s an “old soul” who easily commands the attention of any crowd.  His passion for music and performing is contagious. \nStarting his music career at the ripe age of 15\, Weidinger has had the pleasure of playing a variety of venues around Southwestern Ontario on a weekly basis. SUMMARY:Etwell Concert Series - Carlos del Junco
DESCRIPTION:Carlos has toured Canada regularly since 1996 and tours often in Germany and the United States. He has played all the major jazz\, blues\, and folk festivals across Canada. \nBorn in Havana\, Cuba\, del Junco (loosely translated “of the reeds”) immigrated with his family at the age of one. He bent his first note on a harmonica when he was fourteen\, making his debut with his high school math teacher at a student talent night. \nPlaying a ten hole diatonic harmonica\, Carlos has developed the unique ability to play chromatically by using a recently developed “overblow” technique taught to him by jazz virtuoso Howard Levy. Overall\, this approach to the diatonic harmonica\, although much more difficult to achieve\, is in many ways more expressive and communicative than the mechanized tone produced by the chromatic harmonica. Carlos is one of the few pioneers of this overblow method\, bringing musical credibility to what has still been considered by many in the music industry – a fringe folk instrument. The sophisticated sound produced by del Junco is at once sensitive\, soulful\, and sexy while never forgetting the rawness inherent in blues music. \nTickets are by donation – Suggested Donation $20

From street theatre\, to music\, to sculpture\, to film\, and interactive exhibits\, there is something for everyone\, and many ways to join in the fun.  Come explore\, discover\, debate\, create and participate.  No experience necessary\, just a desire to stay up late and play! \nNuit Blanche North is presented in partnership by the Huntsville Festival of the Arts and Edge of the Woods Theatre.  The goal of the event is to present fun\, engaging and accessible works of art\, and to support the local economy by bringing visitors downtown\, and providing opportunities for local artists to create and present their work.

DESCRIPTION:Julian Fauth is a singer and piano player whose style is based on the tradition of pre-war barrelhouse blues and boogie woogie\, with infusions of gospel and jazz. He writes his own songs in addition to re-interpreting traditional material. \nHe plays regularly in Toronto and has played across Canada\, in the USA\, Western Europe\, Russia and Cuba. \nHe has recorded three CDs for Electro-Fi Records. His first was nominated for\, and his second won\, the Juno Award. He has also received a Maple Blues Award and was nominated for several others. In the early 1900’s this ensemble was created by industrialist C.O. Shaw and led by esteemed cornetist Herbert L. Clarke. Comprised of workers from the local Huntsville tannery mill\, the band was featured at the CNE for ten years and was described as one of the ‘finest industrial plant bands in the country.’

SUMMARY:Etwell Concert Series - Jake and the Fundamentals
DESCRIPTION:Jake and The Fundamentals are inspired by Chicago blues\, Delta blues\, good ol’ Rock & Roll\, R&B\, and everything in between. In 1965 Thomas took his guitar to Detroit and tried to make a living.  For a seventeen-year-old rookie from the wilds of northern Ontario it was like a crash course at “The University of Blues and R&B”.  Over the next decade he shared the stage with great artists like Muddy Waters\, Taj Mahal\, Johnny Winter\, Doug Kershaw\, and worked with many Toronto R&B artists like George Olliver and Bill King.  After all these years of guitar playing\, Thomas says it is still a thrill and a true pleasure. Like the man says: “You can’t lie down when you’re busy getting down.” \nTickets are by donation – Suggested Donation $20
