DESCRIPTION:An annual family-friendly favorite\, the Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade can be viewed from the Chalet or the base of the Flying Dutchman. Watch our Snow School instructors and Ski Patrolers descend the Flying Dutchman carrying brightly lit torches in a beautiful procession of lights. Santa even joins in the Parade (you didn’t know he could ski\, did you?).  \nJoin us for hot chocolate and cookies in the Chalet from 5:00-6:00pm. The Parade begins at 6:00 pm sharp. Tobin Spring will be playing playing acoustic guitar from 5:30 to 6:30pm.  \nNo Night Operations on Christmas Eve.

DESCRIPTION:Our Portage Flyer Christmas is what we like to call a “supermagicated” event that has become a tradition among families looking to spend some great quality time in the fresh air and surrounded by holiday spirit. Arrive and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies (while supplies last) and purchase your tickets enroute to boarding the Portage Flyer Christmas Train Ride. \n\nDate & Time: Saturday\, December 21\, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (last train leaves at 7:30 pm)\nAdmission: $5.00 per person (child or adult) tax included. Sorry\, there are no advance ticket sales or reserve seating.\nLocation: Muskoka Heritage Place\, Train Station\, 100 Forbes Hill Drive Huntsville (beside the Active Living Centre). Here are the directions and parking map.\nParking: Huntsville High School\, Canada Summit Centre\, Active Living Centre or directly across the street from the event. Here are the directions and parking map.\nEvent Details: Once you make your way to Huntsville\, travel up Brunel Rd 1 km and look for the black and white “Portage Flyer Christmas Train Ride” signs. Arrive to our Rotary Village Station and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies and join in on a carol or two. The train coaches have literally a thousand lights and of course Santa is waiting at the end of the line to hear your side of the story. The combination of a train\, lights and Santa is almost too much for the adults\, let alone the kids. There is no reserve seating or advance ticket sales\, just purchase your $5.00 per person ticket (Santa pays the tax) prior to boarding. We travel along the Muskoka River on our 1km of track to Fairy Lake where riders may debark \, visit with Santa and catch the next train back or remain on board for the return trip. Each trip takes about 20 minutes and dress warmly as the coaches are open-aired. Plenty of free parking is available either nearby or directly across from our station.

DESCRIPTION:A SHOW LIKE NO OTHER! \nThe Muskoka Dance Academy does two annual Productions… “Recitals”. One is a Christmas Celebration Show and the other is a Year End Show Production. Both of these shows are a Fantastic way to showcase the development of our students and also the perfect opportunity for students to perform on a Large Stage for their Parents in a Big Theatre. Our performances are held at the Algonquin Theatre in Huntsville. These performances are age appropriate and appeal to all ages. \nBabes in Arms \nBABES IN ARMS are defined as children up to 6 months old. BABES IN ARMS will be issued a complimentary ticket. Patrons are required to purchase tickets for children older than 6 months. ALL persons regardless of age must have a ticket to enter the auditorium. The Ontario Fire Code regulations state that everyone attending a performance must have an admission ticket and an assigned seat. The Ontario Fire Code states that a child sitting on someone’s lap is not considered to be in an assigned seat. This measure is taken to ensure the approved seating capacity of the auditorium is not exceeded and for the safety of all guests.

DESCRIPTION:One of the great joys of Christmas is the music … one of the great joys of this Christmas is the opportunity to experience that music through the genius of Quartette! Whether it’s traditional favourites like “Silent Night” and “What Child Is This?” or Quartette originals such as “The Perfect Christmas Tree” and “Hope\, Peace\, Joy and Love”\, Canadian singer/songwriters Cindy Church\, Caitlin Hanford\, Gwen Swick and Sylvia Tyson enchant with their singularly lush harmonies\, unique arrangements and rich variety of musical influences. \nThe genesis of Quartette was happenstance … a “songwriter in the round” showcase of Canadian women songwriters hosted by Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre in 1993. What began as a concert of musical friends grew into an inspired collaboration\, generating public and critical acclaim\, and catching the ear of Peter Gzowski\, who invited them to perform on his CBC Radio show Morningside. Later Gzowski would say of that performance: “The CBC switchboard lit up like a Christmas tree with people looking for a recording!” Seven months later they released their self-titled album. Since then\, Quartette has released five more recordings – two of them Christmas collections\, garnered multiple Juno nominations\, won the Canadian Country Music Award for best vocal collaboration\, performed with major symphonies across Canada\, been repeat guests on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion\, recorded a CMT-TV Christmas special and of course continued to tour the country\, either in support of their most recent release or for their ever-popular Christmas performances. \nLaughter\, refreshing arrangements of old and new\, impeccable harmonies\, tales of love and inspiration\, four lovely ladies celebrating 23 years of musical friendship … “A Quartette Christmas.” \nCritical Acclaim “The seraphic four-part harmonies of Sylvia\, Cindy\, Caitlin and Gwen are a boundless source of delight. SUMMARY:Men of the Deeps: Christmas in the Mine
DESCRIPTION:A holiday show that will treat audiences to some of your favourite holiday tunes\, sung in jolly miner style\, of course! Sprinkling in a story or two and some jokes for good measure\, the choir aims to take showgoers underground\, to share the true experience of celebrating Christmas in a real Cape Breton Coal mine with real Cape Breton coal miners. Fiddler Colin Grant will join the world-famous group as they deliver Christmas cheer. Colin is best known as one of Cape Breton’s finest fiddlers.
