Golden Pheasant Beach is located on Phillips Crescent and this secret spot is one worth checking out. Look for the small Town of Huntsville municipal sign at the side of the road and park nearby on the shoulder. Follow the wide grassy mowed path that is lined with sumac and wildflowers downhill to this secluded bay on Fairy Lake. There is a small sandy beach lined with old logs to sit on, as well as a couple of chairs. This is a great spot for kids to swim and play in the water as there is a hard sandy bottom that stays quite shallow for at least 50 feet out. The bay also provides protection from wind and waves resulting in calmer waters.
Kids will be thrilled to find an underwater supply of clay amongst the sand which can be dug into to create a “mud spa” back on shore. Mature trees surround the shoreline and provide some privacy from the neighbouring properties. This spot offers spectacular views of many of the small islands scattered throughout Fairy Lake.
