SUMMARY:Warren Miller's Line of Descent
DESCRIPTION:Snowriders are a family—one big tribe comprising of many smaller ones. Familial rites pass down through generations. Skier roots grow deep in high mountain soil. Line of Descent celebrates just that\, the lineage of legendary athletes through a multi-generational cast of skiing’s icons and fresh faces\, including Tommy Moe\, Jonny Moseley\, JT Holmes\, Lexi duPont\, Seth Wescott\, Kalen Thorien\, Marcus Caston\, Jeremy Jensen\, Griffin Post\, and more. \nRide along on a stunning cinematic journey as we travel near and far\, descending some of North America’s deepest lines in Jackson Hole\, Montana\, Silverton\, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows\, and Steamboat. From powsurfer to splitboard\, motorcycle\, dogsled or snowmobile\, watch as athletes chase winter along the Beartooth Pass\, the French Alps\, New Zealand\, British Columbia\, and Norway. “This season\, we explore how skiers are shaped by picking up a pair of skis for the first time\,” notes producer Josh Haskins. “More often than not\, it’s family who introduces us to the sport or steers us on the path towards an ongoing passion—be it a ski bum lifestyle\, a professional career or simply the desire to pass on the same feeling to the next generation. There is a kinship unlike any other in the ski community\, and Warren Miller is the elder\, bringing generations of skiers and riders together for 68 years\, and this year is no different.”

SUMMARY:Murray McLauchlan
DESCRIPTION:An Evening in Concert with… MURRAY McLAUCHLAN! \nMurray McLauchlan is one of Canada’s most highly regarded singer/songwriters\, and with good cause. Over a 40-year career\, he has released 18 albums and been awarded 11 Junos. His songs Farmer’s Song\, Down by the Henry Moore\, Whispering Rain and Sweeping the Spotlight Away are now considered Canadian standards. Murray is also a painter\, an author\, an actor\, a radio host; he’s been bestowed an Honourary Doctor of Laws and appointed to The Order of Canada. That’s quite a ride. Yet some may wonder where he’s been of late. Murray did tour in support of his 2012 critically acclaimed release Human Writes\, but then decided to take a break. Other interests prevailed and he restricted his touring to shows with Lunch At Allen’s\, the supergroup he co-founded\, whose members also include Ian Thomas\, Marc Jordan and Cindy Church.  \nBut now Murray is on the road in his own right once more. Here’s what he has to say: “As a songwriter I know that it’s not enough to sit in your kitchen and write. Your songs need to be heard. Music is a communicative art and if it isn’t brought in front of people there is no way to tell if that end has been met. I like to think of a concert tour as a kind of roving gallery to test your art and your ideas. I try to do my very best to make it worthwhile for folks to be there and to perhaps look at things in a new way when they leave.”

SUMMARY:Rock & Roll Black Tie Event
DESCRIPTION:On June 25th\, 2016 my father succumbed to cancer. It was an overwhelming time in my life\, I was at a loss and for lack of a better expression\, wanted to turn myself inside-out.  \nI decided to take all if the negative energy I was feeling and try to do something good with it. And trust me\, it was not out of strength or goodwill; it was out of necessity. With some very good friends at my side we came up with the idea of the “Rock and Roll Black Tie” and the musicians and the community at large jumped in to help.  \nBut the most amazing thing was the event itself\, to me it felt like a changing of the guard. I suppose as a man in the twilight of his youth I look around and see my peers have moved from jobs to careers\, houses are getting paid off\, kids are growing up. Our parents spoke to us of the importance of community and here we are coming together\, putting our best foot forward in the name of community.  \nIt was so amazing to me to see people making so many bids and rallying for a cause that…….well at least in my experience\, didn’t seem important until I needed it and helping us raise a grand total of $19\,628 for Hospice Huntsville.  \nWe are back to do it all over again on October 14th\, 2017!! I’ll see you then if not before. \n\nJamie Clarke\, Mike Shaver and Brent Ellerson.

SUMMARY:Trudeau Stories
DESCRIPTION:A remarkable story of a surprising friendship\, this solo show has been affecting audiences and wowing critics across the country since it premiered at Toronto’s Summerworks Theatre Festival in 2007. In 1985\, while she was a student at the National Theatre School in Montreal\, Brooke Johnson became friends with Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Through reminiscences\, journal entries and correspondence\, Brooke gives us a personal insight into the man and the times that is “not to be missed” . At once vital and charming\, poignant and very funny\, Trudeau Stories is about friendship and loss… and about who the heck we think we are. \n\nThe Playwright and Performer: \nBrooke Johnson is a 1987 graduate of the Acting Program of the National Theatre School of Canada.
