SUMMARY:The Snow Queen Outdoor Play
DESCRIPTION:The Huntsville Festival of the Arts (HfA) is thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for youth ages 7-12 to participate in the creation and performance of the famous Fairy Tale “The Snow Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen (which is also the inspiration for the movie Frozen). \nParticipants will work with local professional artists for 12 weeks to create all aspects of the performance including acting\, costumes\, music and building giant puppets. The creation will be led by local artists Catherine Luce (visual/puppetry)\, Christina Serra (theatre) and Sarah Spring (music) and more. The final performance will take place February 19-21\, 2021 starting at 5pm each day. The audience will follow the action of the play to different outdoor spaces around downtown Huntsville. It’s sure to be a memorable and magical experience for participants and audience alike. \nFor more information please visit huntsvillefestival.ca.

To take part in this super popular event\, all you need to do is follow 3 easy steps. \nSTEP #1: PURCHASE YOUR TICKET ONLINE HERE\nThe full price ticket includes a wood fired pizza & small salad from the Mill On Main Restaurant and a link to the online performances which will be broadcast over Zoom on January 30th. Tickets can also be purchased for the performances only. \nSTEP #2: ORDER YOUR PIZZA FOR PICK UP\nCall 705-788-5150 to order your pizza. The full price ticket gets you a choice of either “THE CLASSIC” (Homemade tomato sauce\, fresh mozzarella\, and spicy salami) or “THE VEGGIE” (Basil-pesto oil\, caramelized onion\, tomato\, roasted garlic\, and arugula\, with a drizzle of balsamic) along with a small salad. When you order\, you’ll be asked to pick a date to pick up the food (either January 29 or 30 between noon-4pm). Your pizza will be half-baked in the Mill’s famous Wood Oven to give it that delicious smoky taste. You pick it up\, bring it home\, and put it in the oven for 20 minutes. Want more food or drink? Together they make up two of the planet’s very best fiddle players. Natalie MacMaster is a member of the order of Canada and has toured with the Chieftains\, Faith Hill\, Carlos Santana and Alison Krauss\, and has recorded with Yo-Yo Ma. Donnell Leahy is a multiple Juno Award winning musician\, part of the Leahy Family\, who has played with likes of Shania Twain amongst others. Together they bring unparalleled musicianship\, down-home humour\, and a whole gaggle of their kids. It’s no surprise they hold the Festival record for most presented artist.

Led by local local musician Sean Cotton and his band of top top local players\, the show features all the hits including Courage\, Little Bones\, Bobcaygeon\, Wheat Kings and more. \nThe show will be presented like a classic drive-in experience. You park your car and tune in through your radio. Tickets include 1 vehicle with up to 2 occupants (1 driver + 1 passenger) . Additional passengers tickets can be purchased at check out (maximum 4 additional passengers per vehicle). \n\nThis concert will follow the guidance and regulations set out by the Province of Ontario’s Stage 2 Reopening Framework. Join us for FREE Screening of the movie classic “JAWS” at the Dwight Public Beach. \nThe film will be shown under the open skies on a screen set atop floating docks provided by Pipefusion. Due to restrictions around COVID-19\, this year’s event is Boat-In only.\n \nThis event will follow the guidance and regulations set out by the Province of Ontario’s Stage 2 Reopening Framework. As such\, the following rules will be in place. \n\nWater crafts will maintain at least 2 meters of space from others for social distancing.\nOnly members of the same household or extended bubble may occupy the same water craft.\nYou must stay in your boat at all times except to use the washroom.\nYou may bring in outside food as long as you take the garbage with you. Please try to support local food businesses that need your support.
