SUMMARY:Scarborough
DESCRIPTION:In this adaptation of the breathtaking novel by Catherine Hernandez\, the rich interior lives of three children collide and unfurl over the course of one school year as they navigate the throes of institutional violence and inequality. Boasting revelatory performances from its young cast and a raw kineticism that thrusts audiences into the chaos of the children’s ever-changing world\, this unflinching but hopeful drama depicts the capacity for great triumph and great tragedy on the periphery of unassuming suburbs. \nThe runner-up for the TIFF People’s Choice Award in 2021\, Scarborough found major success at the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards\, earning eight wins including Best Picture\, Best Director\, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

SUMMARY:Tom Wilson & Iskwē | ᐃᐢᑫᐧᐤ

The two artists had never performed together but the chemistry and the magic was instantaneous. And through it all\, she’s a teller of stories that have impacted our past and will inform our future. \nTom Wilson is a Canadian music legend\, famed storyteller and visual artist. In his memoir\, Beautiful Scars\, Wilson reveals the impact of discovering his Indigenous heritage after a chance encounter with a stranger caused him to question everything he had always known about his past. Musically\, Wilson is best known for his work with Blackie & The Rodeo Kings and Lee Harvey Osmond\, the latter receiving a 2020 Juno Award for the album “Mohawk”.
